When I say we, I really mean all of us, what happenned to the day when the perception of what was true was in reality the absolute truth; nowadays we state that there are no longer any truths but rather perceptions of truths. Lets take for example personal issues like littering, why is it OK to litter at home, yet we live by the highest moral standard as soon as we leave our country. This is especially true in Jordan. On another level why is it so difficult for Government or even the succession of numerous previous governments to ever face the brutal truth; why do we give ourselves or anyone the possibility to have a double standard. On a global scale, since when do the George Bushites represent the "Good" of humanity, while starved Palestinians under occupation represent the "Bad" of humanity.
What I am eluding to is that we forgot what it means to have an ethical standard by which to live. Life is so unclear to most that very rarely do people judge what they are doing beyond their comfort zone. How can we develop as Human beings in a global village when we don't subscribe to the same set of values that are universally accepted, those being the values of our humanity. Why do we accept or allow to be accepted that one of the richest nations in agriculture has famine, drought and disease as the main staple of its citizens. There are so many whys...
Fundamentally they fall into one reality; When do we stop being Hypocrates and start living towards a better world. We can start with ourselves and then expand... But first, lets start by introspection and reflection on what our values are. What are our Core Values, What is our Mission in Life and what is our Vision for who we care for; who do we care for and how do we ensure we all share in our strategic essence, our values and hence our existance as a collective
